Water flows from high in the mountains
Water runs deep in the Earth
Miraculously, water comes to us,
And sustains all life.
How You Can Help
Donate
The success of Neighborhood Guardians relies on the support of communities, business and people like you. We work together to protect the groundwater resources, safety and property values in the region. We hope you too will want the personal satisfaction of knowing you have directly contributed to this effort. We have no staff and rely 100% on volunteers so your contribution goes directly to the efforts of our mission.

Everyday Ways You Can Help
Each one of us has the opportunity to participate in guarding our region, the natural resources and the groundwater around us. Here are just a few suggestions on how you can make a difference:
- Stop/Reduce consumption of bottle water.
- Write a letter to your elected officials, editors and favorite blogs urging them to develop laws and regulations to keep groundwater in the public trust and protected.
- Talk to your elected town officials about your concerns over the extraction of groundwater in high volumes and its impact on the Lamprey River Watershed.
- Educate yourself on groundwater issues.
- Contact Neighborhood Guardians and become a volunteer.
Rallies
Neighborhood Guardians and Save Our Groundwater continue to hold weekly rallies along Route 4 near the USA Springs, Inc., property: every Saturday from 10AM until noon.
The site is located about five miles west of Lee Traffic Circle. Park along Lincoln Drive, not on the highway. Signs are available with messages such as "Water is Life" and "Stop USA Springs", or bring your own with an original message - - perhaps "60 TRUCKS A DAY? NO WAY", or "310,000 GPD? THINK AGAIN!"
Occasionally we hold rallies at Lee Traffic Circle, where Friday afternoon rush-hour makes for high visibility. The most recent rally there was April 22, the day before Earth Day.
Come for as long as you can - -even just one half hour! It's a great way to meet like-minded citizens and neighbors and to keep the USA Springs issue in front of the public.
Ground rules for the rallies are as follows:
- Parking for the Rally is along the side of Lincoln Drive which is a short distance from the site and has two entrances onto Route 4. Please use the entrance which is the closest to the USA Springs site and then walk up to the site with your sign or pick one up at the site.
- This is strictly a peaceful rally specifically designed to develop public awareness.
- The rally is to be held on Department of Transportation right-of-way on Route 4 by virtue of our citizen rights to peacefully assemble per the 1st Amendment. This right to peacefully assemble is to be held in the highest respect by all participants and shall not be violated by any non-peaceful actions.
- Great caution is to be exercised while walking down these roads. Please be aware that any accident of even the smallest nature involving participants and passing vehicles will bring negative attention to our cause.
- In order to insure the safety of both the participants during the rally and the drivers traveling along the highway, it is crucial that we do not interrupt the traffic flow or seriously distract drivers whereby causing an accident. We want a safe rally for all!
- No "bad mouthing" of DES... And, please, no profanity! Remember, the eyes and ears of the Public are upon us!
